All Players Must Provide Their Own


  • Girl’s lacrosse stick – Please note that s​ome sticks do not comply with US Lacrosse rules for all youth age groups.  Before purchasing a particular stick, please confirm it complies with US Lacrosse specificiations for your player’s particular age group.  A list of all manufacturers’ sticks that comply with US Lacrosse rules for women’s and youth (U10 and up) play is available here:  www.uslacrosse.org/safety/equipment/legal-sticks.  These are some reasonably-priced beginning and intermediate level girls’/women’s sticks that meet USL specifications for youth play:

  • Protective Eyewear or Headgear - Players have a choice between (1) goggles, marked with the updated SEI-certified stamp, or (2) a girl’s lacrosse helmet.  Please note that goggles manufactured before 2020 are unlikely to comply with US Lacrosse’s current safety requirements.  As of 2020, US Lacrosse requires all youth girls to wear goggles that are SEI-certified and stamped with the updated mark.   The updated SEI certification mark refers to ASTM F3077-17.  A list of all manufacturers and models of SEI-certified lacrosse goggles that comply with US Lacrosse’s current safety requirements is available here:  www.uslacrosse.org/safety/equipment/approved-eyewear-list   
  • Mouthguardthey must protect and separate the player’s biting surfaces and cover the player’s back teeth, and no protuding tabs are allowed for field players
  • Cleats - lacrosse or soccer cleats are highly recommended, although softball cleats (without steel cleats) are permissible

IMPROPER EQUIPMENT CANNOT BE USED DURING A GAME

PLAYERS WITHOUT PROPER EQUIPMENT MAY NOT PRACTICE OR COMPETE DUE TO SAFETY ISSUES

REFEREES MAY PENALIZE A YOUTH TEAM FOR A MINOR FOUL IF PLAYERS USE IMPROPER EQUIPMENT DURING A GAME

Hillsboro United Provides


  • Practice Pinnies – New and gently used HALO pinnies are provided for practice thanks to the generosity of the Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Dept.
  • Game Uniforms – New shirts and shorts are provided – for more information, go to our Uniform Sizing page
  • Goalie Equipment – Sticks, helmets, chest protectors, gloves, and other padding are provided, although goalies are free to purchase their own equipment

About US

Hillsboro United Girls Lacrosse was established in 2020 to provide elementary and middle school girls within Hillsboro School District’s boundaries an opportunity to participate in a competitive lacrosse program, emphasizing the fundamentals of the game, good sportsmanship, and the spirit of competition.  We will continue to work with the Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Dept. to promote lacrosse within our community.
