Season Information

COVID-19 Procedures & Policies for Practices

We will adapt and follow all current Oregon Health Authority/City of Hillsboro health guidelines as needed

Players’ COVID-19 Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct applicable to players and the Hillsboro United COVID-19 Responsibilities
  • Monitor personal health – tell your parent/guardian and stay home if you feel ill
  • Arrive 15 minutes before practice so that your temperature can be taken, you can answer the screening questions
  • Put on your gear – pinnie or game uniform, cleats, & goggles/helmets – before you come onto the field
  • Leave your bags and any extra gear in your vehicle
  • Wear a face mask at the facility and on the field at all times – before, during, and after practice
  • Practice social distancing – no physical contact is allowed before, during, or after practice – no high fives, handshakes, hugs, etc.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before you come onto the field, and again when you leave
  • Bring your own water bottle and place it next to one of the cones placed on the field for players’ use
  • Do not share your water bottle or any of your equipment with any other players
  • Do not handle team equipment – balls are to be picked up with sticks only
  • Use the restroom before you come to your practice, game, or other event to minimize restroom usage at the facility
  • Have your parent/guardian notify Hillsboro United if you are found to have COVID-19 or have been directed to isolate/quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19

Parents’ COVID-19 Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct applicable to parents and the Hillsboro United COVID-19 Responsibilities
  • Familiarize yourself with and share with your player(s) these COVID-19 guidelines before attending any practice, game, or other event
  • Monitor the personal health of your player(s) – keep her at home if she feels sick
  • Complete the health survey on the day of practice, game, or other event for your player(s) – prior to arrival
  • Avoid carpooling with others outside your immediate household whenever possible
  • Wear a face mask / face shield at all times outside of your vehicle while at the field / facility – once your player(s) is checked in and cleared to play, return to your vehicle
  • Practice social distancing while at the field / facility – do not congregate on the sidelines, on the field, in the facility, or in the parking lot
  • Ensure your player(s) has all of her equipment – pinnie or game uniform, cleats, and goggles/helmet – before she she comes onto the field
  • Ensure your player(s) has her own water bottle
  • Ensure your player(s) uses the restroom before she comes to practice, game, or other event to minimize restroom usage at the facility
  • Notify Hillsboro United if you or your player(s) is found to have COVID-19 or have been directed to isolate/quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19

HIllsboro United’s COVID-19 Responsibilities

  • Adopt a Return to Play plan, submit it to the required party(ies), share it with coaches, players, and parents, and post it on Hillsboro United’s website
  • Adopt the US Lacrosse Waiver/Release for Communicable Diseases including COVID-19 and ensure all coaches and parents/guardians sign it prior to participation in any event
  • Obtain information during player registration and/or onsite during player check-in that supports contact tracing: player name, drop-off / pick-up time, family member doing drop-off / pick-up and contact information, and staff name and contact information
  • Designate a primary person to communicate updates on all COVID-19 requirements to coaches and parents/guardians as needed
  • Track player attendance at practices, games, and other events
  • Provide a process for coaches and parents/guardians to notify Hillsboro United if they or a player is found to have COVID-19
  • Notify local public health authority of any confirmed COVID-19 cases among coaches or players
  • Should a player have or be directly exposed to COVID-19, work with the family to determine eligibility to return to play
  • Monitor COVID-19 public health guidelines rom the Oregon Governor and Oregon Health Authority
  • Remind coaches, players, and families of healthy behavior while on the field/at the facility
  • Create a stable (same, week to week) cohorts of ten (10) or fewer players, and limit the number of cohorts per practice as required by the Governor, OHA, etc.
  • Provide santitation stations at the field/facility

Coach Responsibilities

  • Follow any guidelines notied in the Club Responsibilities section
  • Monitor personal health – stay home if you feel sick
  • Complete the health survey on the day of the event, prior to arrival
  • Wear a face mask once at the field or facility
  • Practice social distancing yourself and ensure players do so – no physical contact is allowed before, during, or after practice - no high fives, handshakes, hugs, etc.
  • Wash or sanitize hands before and after each practice, game, or other event – and between work with each cohort (if applicable)
  • Ensure all players have their own equipment
  • Ensure only coaches handle team equipment (balls, cones, goals, etc.)
  • Notify Hillsboro United if you are found to have COVID-19 or have been directed to isolate/quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19

Field / Facility Guidelines

  • Santitation stations will be provided / present during practices, games, and other events
  • Cones will be placed at least 6’ apart as locations for players to place their water bottles during practice
  • Separate entrances and exits will be used at the facility

Event Guidelines

  • Coaches and players mst be healthy as defined by Hillsboro United’s “day of the event” survey, have their temperature checked at the field / facility, and not have a fever of > 100.3
  • At the conclusion of each practice, game, or other event, players must gather up their belongings and leave the field / facility through the designated exit
  • Coaches will ensure all team equipment (balls, goals, etc.) have been cleared and cleaned as needed

About US

Hillsboro United Girls Lacrosse was established in 2020 to provide elementary and middle school girls within Hillsboro School District’s boundaries an opportunity to participate in a competitive lacrosse program, emphasizing the fundamentals of the game, good sportsmanship, and the spirit of competition.  We will continue to work with the Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Dept. to promote lacrosse within our community.
